Jonathan’s speech disabuses critics’ minds – Aminu

A delegate and former Senator, Prof. Jubril Aminu, has said that President Goodluck Jonathan’s inaugural speech on Monday was a “reasonably good job” which was meant to disabuse the minds of people who did not believe in the project.
Jubril told Blueprint in an interview at the conference venue in Abuja that he is participating at the conference because he foresaw a reasonable outcome.

“He was supposed to tell us a few more details of what he told us already either in a letter or in a discussion, so we now know what he wants of the conference, what he hopes we will be achieved and he has also tried to disabuse the mind of people who have different opinions about the conference. I think he did a reasonable good job.”

When asked whether the conference would make the country stronger, the former lawmaker said: “Definitely, that is why I am here, if not I won’t be here. We are here in the conference to make Nigeria stronger that it was before the conference.”
While commenting on various regions with different agendas,  Aminu said it was a welcome idea.

“There is nothing wrong in coming to the conference with an agenda. What is the use of coming to the conference without an agenda? People must come with their own idea about what they want and they speak and talk and persuade people to come to their own side. A man who comes with his own agenda is somebody who is prepared, somebody who is serious and not somebody who has only come to collect money.” He said.
