Jigawa NUJ set up credentials c’ttee for elections

Jigawa state council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has set up a six-member credentials committee to organise and conduct elections into various elective positions as contained in the Union’s constitution.
This was contained in a press release signed by the secretary of the Union after the state working committee meeting of the union yesterday.
According the release, the formation of the committee followed the expiration of the tenure of the incumbent executives.
It added that the committee was given three months within which was to conduct its assignment with the effect from the date of its inauguration, which is Tuesday  [Today]November 18th, 2014.
The release said that the committee has comrade Habibu Nuhu Kila, General Manager Federal Radio   Horizon FM Station, Dutse, while Comrade Fahad  Muhammad  former state NUJ chairman is to serve as  the secretary .

The release explained that the committee was given the following terms of reference, organise and conduct election  within three months, liaise with the state council on any administrative requirement, liaise with the state council to get names of the full financial members and produce as well as to sell nominations forms to prospective aspirants.
The rest according to the release, include: to produce election time table, refer to the union’s constitution for guidance and conduct the swearing in of the newly elected executives.
