Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa state chapter, has deployed 700 men and officers for the week-long 28th edition of the National Qur’anic Recitation Commission which begins today in Dutse.
The state Commandant of the Corps, Dr. Muhammad Gidado, who disclosed this to Blueprint in a telephone interview yesterday, said the Command had put in place water-tight security arrangements hence its decision to deploy this number of its personnel to ensure that the competition was conducted successfully and peacefully.
Gidado called on the Jigawa people, visitors and contestants to maintain law and order, and prayed for a peaceful and enjoyable get-together.
He warned that anybody “who is thinking or trying to cause disorder will be dealt with decisively, according to the law of the land.”
