A member representing Yankwashi constituency of Jigawa state, AbdulRahman Alkassim, has urged the speedy passage of the proposed Community Development Fund 2018 Bill.
Alkassim, who the urge shortly after the bill scaled through the second reading, assured that when passed into law, the bill would facilitate the smooth running of governance in the third tier of government.
It would be recalled that last week, the state government sent the executive bill requesting for the establishment of community development fund known as polling unit fund or ‘Kudin Akwati’, initiated by former governor Saminu Turaki’s administration across the existing polling units of the state.
Yankwashi explained that the monthly participatory polling unit fund established by the previous administration of the ex-governor, had yielded positive impact on the lives of Jigawa people, with physical projects executed across the 27 local government areas of the state.
“The bill when passed into law will facilitate and ease untold hardship being faced by some communities in minor repairs of existing structures such as bore holes, open wells, schools and mosques renovations among others,” he said.
