Senator representing Zamfara West, Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has said, the only option for a lasting solution to insecurity in the North is for the people of the region to return to God.
Yari made the remark while receiving APC stakeholders from the 14 local government areas of the state at his residence in Talata Mafara town, the headquarters of Talata Mafara local government, Tuesday.
Senator Yari lamented that, despite peace dialogue with bandits and other non-kinetic approaches by the federal and state governments on insecurity, the situation has largely remained unchanged and defiant.
“Despite all efforts by the government on the insecurity issue in some parts of the north, we observe that the issue is on the increase and the only solution to banditry is to return to Almighty God to seek his divine intervention,” Yari said.
He appealed to religious leaders to always pray for the return of peaceful coexistence in the region.
According to him, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is committed to addressing all forms of terrorism in the country and charged APC members and supporters to remain law-abiding citizens in the state for the development of the party and country.
