Insecurity: Lagbaja flags off Operation Hakorin Damisa in Mangu

The Chief of Army Staff, Major-General Taoreed Lagbaja, has Saturday, told troops to work with local communities and bring to an end the crises bedevilling Mangu Local Area of Plateau state.

Maj-Gen. Lagbaja who stated this while flagging off, “Operation Hakorin Damisa IV,” at Mangu mini stadium, assured the people of the state of safety

“You must work with sister security agencies. Work with the communities. You are the People’s army when they make distress calls you must respond as soon as possible,” he said.

Lagbaja said by responding and helping the locals, troops would build confidence and restored peace in the communities.

“As you conduct operations you must be guided by rules of engagement. So Whoever, is carrying military grade weapons, you must recover those weapons from them,” said.
He challenged troops to, “stamp out the crises in Plateau state.”

Fielding questions from Journalists, General Lagbaja said the Nigerian army is not overwhelmed in the discharge of it constitutional duties.

“The Nigerian army, including other services and security agencies have been responding to crises.

“…in combating crises is usually juggling between…the people, Government and the military,” he said.

The general also held an interactive session with major stakeholders, where he admonished them to caution there children against fermenting violent conflict.
