Impeachment: Adamawa APC accuses lawmakers of acting PDP’s script

By Ibrahim Abdul’Aziz

Adamawa state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the House of Assembly-led Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of acting the party’s script by serving Governor Murtala Nyako and his deputy, Mr Bala Ngilari, with impeachment Notice.
Speaking to newsmen yesterday in Yola, the Publicity Secretary of the APC, Rev Phineas Padio, said the House’s action left no one in doubt, particularly of the Speaker, Ahmadu Fintiri’s “blind ambition to become governor of the state.”
Padio said the allegations levelled against the governor were not only laughable, but embarrassing coming from lawmakers.
“There is no way a House will bring something that happened in 2007, during previous legislation, as some of its allegation against the governor. It goofed,” he said.
Padio pointed out that the speaker, who had been nursing governorship ambition with the hope of using APC, became angry with the APC when Mrs Binta Masi from the same zone with him emerged as the state party chairperson, thus blocking his chances.
Padio, who commended groups and individuals for showing solidarity with the state APC-led government over the matter, urged the people of Adamawa to resist the lawmakers’ attempt to sacrifice the state for selfish ambition.
