Imo guber: Father Mbaka’s prediction boosts Uzodinma’s hope

Supporters of Chief Hope Uzodinma who contested and lost  the 2019 governorship election in Imo state on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were   in joyous mood since the 2020 prophesy of Father Ejike Mbaka was made public.

The supporters who went into their cocoons immediately after the last Appeal Court ruling which nullified their principal’s appeal, suddenly resurfaced at different newspaper stands and in other joints to express their optimism over the possibility of Uzodinma being declared winner by Supreme Court in the much expected final judgement coming up in the next few days.

This is because they said Father Mbaka reportedly prophesised that there would be “hope” and that “hope” would take over Imo state.   Those who did not like the prophesy may as well say “hopeless.”

The said, “God works in mysterious ways and anything can happen.”

But those in Governor Emeka Ihedioha’s camp tried to let them know that the hope Mbaka was referring to was not Hope Uzodinma taking over from Ihedioha but ” the hope that things would start working well in the state again because a man with due process and spirit of good governance has come to power.”

In the last Supreme Court ruling between Ihedioha and Uche Nwosu, the former’s election was upheld while the latter’s petition was nullified because he ran the election on two platforms ie Action Alliance(AA) and APC. The court stated that he was the authentic candidate for the APC. So, Ihedioha’s supporters have been wondering whether Uzodinma would take over as an independent candidate, a situation which does not have the backing of the Nigerian Constitution.

Meanwhile, three major contenders to the governorship seat of the state in the last election, namely Chief Uche Nwosu, Chief Hope Uzodinma and Senator Godwin Ifeanyi Araraume have been advised to sheath their swords and unite with Governor Ihedioha to make the state great again. A politician in the state, Emeluwa Ojinnaka, gave the advice at the weekend while wishing Imo people a prosperous new year. He said only a united front with sincerity of purpose from the aforementioned political gladiators would see the state through and urged Imo people to continue to pray for the progress of the state.
