Immigration redeploys 15 Passport control officers for efficiency

The acting Comptroller General of Immigration, Caroline Wuraola Adepoju, has approved the immediate redeployment of 15 Passport Control Officers, in a bid to deepen the ongoing reform process in Service.

A statement released Thursday in Abuja, signed by ACI Kenneth Kure, said the deployment “is part of NIS management’s drive to upgrade the passport administration both at home and in our foreign Missions.”

The statement assured that the current leadership of the Service remains resolute in its commitment to transforming Passport offices into customer-centric service centres.

“In the posting order, signed by the Ag. Deputy Comptroller General in charge of Human Resource Management, Usman Babangida, the affected Passport offices included, Alausa and Festac both in Lagos, as well as the ones in Edo, Anambra, Bayelsa, Kogi, Nassarawa, Plateau, Enugu, Abia, Kano, Taraba and Ondo, among others.”

Kure said the acting Comptroller General enjoined all affected officers in the redeployment to bring their wealth of experience to their new offices, and contribute to the improvement of service delivery.

While emphasizing the importance of “service above self,” the acting CGI said only the most capable and dedicated individuals will henceforth be assigned to sensitive positions.

“This commitment to excellence ensures that citizens receive nothing less than the best service possible,” the statement said.
