I’m still in charge of El-Makkasa, Amuneke debunks sack rumours

Sacked El Makkasa coach, Emmanuel Amuneke has refuted the rumours making rounds that he was sack by Egyptian club stating that he still remains in charge of the club till the end of the current campaign,.
The former Nigeria U20 coach who took charge of the club last month told journalists from his base in Egypt that he has been offered a bigger task by the club as they bid to expend their brand in other African countries.

“I’m still with the team nobody sacked me. They have a project through the Government here who is encouraging them to invest in other African countries which Nigeria is a part of the plan.

“They want to start with Tanzania, then Mali before coming down to Nigeria and since I’m already in the company, they want me to head the project through their government because my name and that of Abedi Pele came up,” Amuneke explained.
The former Tanzania head coach further revealed that he would, however, have to consider the benefits of the proposal before diving into it, but will see what happens in the coming days whilst stating that he remains in charge of the football club.
Amuneke drew 2 and lost one of his opening 3 games in charge of the club as they remain 16th on the log after the halfway mark in the league.
