Ikhana returns to Enyimba

Kadiri Ikhana has been appointed as the head coach of two-time African champions, Enyimba, Ikhana, joins the People’s Elephants after leaving newly-promoted Glo Premier League outfit, Giwa FC, after a very brief stint with them.
He had previously managed the Aba club in 2003/04 season.
The former Kano Pillars’ coach was introduced to players and staff of Enyimba yesterday morning in a meeting that lasted more than hour in Aba.

“Kadiri Ikhana was introduced to the players in a meeting today at the club’s camp in Aba. The introduction was made by the club secretary since the chairman (Felix Anyansi Agwu) is away in Brazil in his capacity of the NFF board member.
“It was a meeting that went smoothly and Ikhana is not new to the club though the players will be new to him anyway. He is expected to resume immediately since the second round will start off next month,” said an official of the six-time Nigerian champions.

However, the terms of the contract between Enyimba and Ikhana are unknown but supersport.com was informed that an agreement was reached between both parties when the former guided Giwa FC to secure a goalless draw in Aba on June 8.
Ikhana had guided Enyimba to a double in the 2003/04 season when they won the Nigerian top flight and also became the first club from the country to win the Caf Champions League in 2003.
After his exit from Enyimba that season, Ikhana went on to manage Kano Pillars, Sharks, Kwara United, Nasarawa United and recently Giwa FC as well as the Nigerian women’s national team, the Super Falcons.
