House okays caretaker chairmen for Borno LGs

Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno state has  appointed  27  local government caretaker committee  chairmen and councillors  that will steer the affairs of the councils in the next six months.
This followed the dissolution of the committee sometime late last year  in a n announcement by  the state commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs,  Alhaji Kaka Bashir Garbai.
The appointees’ names which were forwarded to the state House of  Assembly  last week was approved yesterday by the lawmakers.
The new appointees are expected to be sworn in today at the Government House, Maiduguri.
