Happening now: Heavy security as Gbajabiamila, Ganduje, others storm Appeal Court

There is heavy security at the Court of Appeal as hearing in the petition filled by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, his Labour Party counterpart, Peter Obi and Allied Peoples Movement (APM) against President Bola Tinubu.

Atiku is expected to present new evidence proving that President Tinubu submitted a forged certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in aid of his qualification for the February 25, 2023 presidential election.

In a hearing notice sent to the parties in the appeal, the Supreme Court stated that they will address its panel of seven justices on Monday on whether it has the authority to grant the request.

Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje, have arrived at the Supreme Court.

The National Security Adviser of Nigeria, Nuhu Ribadu and the acting National Chairman of the PDP, Umar Damagum are also among others in the court.
