Group urges Oyetola to address same uniform in Osun


In reaction to the recent clash between students of Baptist High School, Osogbo, and the teachers, a group, Dialogue 365, has called on Governor Gboyega Oyetola to quickly address the issue of same uniform that has made it difficult to identify students of different schools in the state. 


In a release signed by its convened, Comrade Waheed Saka, the group described the clash as unfortunate and uncalled for. 


The group also called on parents to instill fundamental disciplines in their children, noting that moral education is lacking in son  students. 


According to the group, the state government must as a matter of urgency introduce badge or any other symbol that would enable teachers to identify students of their school easily. 


“It is highly unfortunate that our schools in Osun are prone to attack by I’ll manner students in recent time therefore turning citadel of learning to citadel of violence. 


“And the attack which was repelled by teachers at Baptist Girl School is a reflection of how porous the four wall of our schools have become, the attack is condemnable.


“However, the blame that the incessant attack is a product of same school uniform is too basic in addressing moral decadence among students.


“While Dialogue 365 call for a symbol or badge to differentiate each schools despite similar uniform, we also call on government to strengthen the counselling unit and security section in all our school, by these, we will achieve nurturing next generation of leaders in those school in a very secure environment.

“More so, the parent have a fundamental role in curbing their wards against adolescent violence activities.
