Governor Sule vs Ombugadu: ‘Our expectations at the Appeal Court’ -CSOs

Coalition of Civil Society Groups in Nasarawa State has called on the Appeal Court which will be hearing the Appeal filed by Governor A A Sule of the All Progressives Congress against David Ombugadu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to dismiss the judgement of the Tribunal which it described as totally flawed.

In a statement signed by Olatubosin Taiwo the spokesperson of the coalition which comprises of Women Rescue, Vote Count Campaign Organisation, Peace Advocacy International and Voters Renaissance Group said it is sad that the tribunal resorted to technicalities rather than reality in making their decision hence the split votes that necessitated a minority interpretation of the judgment.

The group said it hopes that in deciding the appeal of Governor A A Sule, the Judges hearing the appeal will do justice to the people of Nasarawa State who are yearning on the appellate court to reverse the anti people Judgement of the Election Petition Tribunal.

“As much as we do not wish to be seen as preempting the Appeal Court which will hopefully hear the appeal brought by the Governor of Nasarawa State, it is our Ernest expectations that the Judges hearing the appeal will do the needful and bring joy to the people of the state generality who see the judgement as been against the unity and stability of the state” the statement said.
