Taraba gov hale, healthy – Aide

The Senior Special Adviser to Taraba state governor on media and publicity, Mr.  Bala Dan-Abu, on Sunday dismissed media reports in some national dailies, not Blueprint that Governor Darius Ishaku is critically ill.

Bala, who spoke to Blueprint through a telephone interview in Jalingo said those spreading such fake rumours that the governor has not been seen in public since he returned from his vacation in abroad were doing that to cause confusion in the state.

He said the governor since his return has not at any point avoided public appearances.

“If you want to be sure, you can come down to the office later; the governor is the type who always comes to the office.

“After the stress of the last month elections, he decided to travel to have some rest.

“His back and he has continued with the business of governance as usual,” he said.

He maintained that the governor was healthy and full of life, adding that he has since been going around, performing his civic duties as a governor.

He warned political rhetoric to stop distracting the governor, stressing that the governor in his next four years of administration was determined to transform the lives of Tarabans.

According to him, Ishaku has vowed to work tirelessly to ensure that the development momentum of the state has attained was not slowed down by the rhetoric and divisive politics of opposition in the state.
