Ghali Na’Abba alive, well, says ex-legislative aide

Contrary to the rumour that the one-time speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Gali Umar Na’Abba, had died and had been buried in Kano, a  his former legislative aide, Ahamed Tijjani Lawal, has confirmed to Blueprint that “he is still alive and currently in London on a personal trip.”

He said it would be foolhardy for one to believe that “a person of such calibre can simply die and be buried in Kano without people knowing about it,” adding that “a rumour of such a magnitude is daily inundating the online media platform which source and credibility would be very difficult to verify.”

“He is in London on a personal trip and has been trapped due to the present logjam in accessing the flight that would fly him back to the country. The rumour is just a figment of the imagination of the person who posted the story on an online platform.

“We part of his family and we are in the best position to know whether he is dead or not. If you have his phone, just give him a call; he would answer you. But as far as we are concerned we are not aware of what was bandied about on the online platform. I can’t understand what people stand to gain by spreading rumour and falsehood,” he said.
