GDPN allots 35% inclusion for Nigerian youth

The Grassroots Development Party of Nigeria has declared that the youth have been allotted 35 per cent in its political structure.
National Chairman of the party, Amb Odion Cedrack Okpebholo, gave this hint at the national youth leaders’ three-day intensive leadership training for national, zonal and states’ youth leaders on Friday.
The summit with the theme: “Youths as the Driving Force for Grassroots Politics in Nigeria” was held at Kado Estate, Abuja.
Okpebholo explained that the summit was to “sensitise the youth about our political agenda and also let them know that they are the leaders of today not tomorrow.
“Let them know their involvement in politics because we have 35 per cent affirmative for the youth, which is the best for the youth in all the parties.
What we are doing here is first in history.
No party has done this,” he said.
The national youth leader, Comrade Adeolu Joseph, lamented the failure of past governmenst to fulfill their promises to the youth, saying: “There is a future for the youth on the political space of this country.
The onus now lies on the youth to take the decision to make the move.” Speaking on the call for a summit, he explained that it was to know the right followers and to synchronise the party’s activities at all levels, adding that the party which was registered about six months ago, has recorded successes that outweighs its existence.
“Come 2019 our voice will be heard and they will say these youth have come to stay,” he added.
FCT secretary general of the party, Comrade Azinye Donald, advised the youth to “come out en masse to take what belongs to them.
Let them come out en masse to rule the nation because they are the bone of the nation, not the elderly ones that have failed us.”
