Ganduje receives Certificate of Return, harps on sustainable future

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has  Wednesday  received his certificate of return as the winner of the just concluded gubernatorial election from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with the promise to build a sustainable future for the present generation and  generation yet unborn.

Addressing a mammoth crowd of party supporters shortly after receiving the certificate along with 40 Kano state House of Assembly members -elect  at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Ganduje said  there was no better time for  his administration to buckle up  most especially now that the war for returning to government House had been won.

According to him, his victory at the polls had clearly demonstrated the resolve and commitment of  Kano people in supporting the quest for making Kano a role model of excellence in almost all spheres of human endeavour adding that in 15 years to come  Kano would be acknowledged as the pace setter in the field of education in Sub-saharan Africa.

He said” all that we are fighting for is over. We have won the election and received our certificate of return today. We have no axe to grind with anyone. What is needed most is for all our hands to be on deck. We are on the road to making Kano great. The future of our young generation and even for the generation yet unborn is paramount.”

“We want to attract foreign investors to come and invest in the economy of the state. We have the much needed potentials to forge ahead. What we want is your firm support and commitment,” he added.

Speaking earlier, the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Kano State, Prof. Risqua Arabi Shehu said the lessons of the just concluded election had gingered the Commission’s resolve to put more effort in perfecting future engagements.
