Ganduje donates N20m, school bus to alma-mater

To respond to the cries of acute shortage of water bedeviling  the famous Birnin Kudu Government College in Jigawa state,  Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has donated the sum of N17 million for the drilling of hand pumps at the premises of  the college, aimed at bringing to an end the water scarcity  facing the institution.

 The governor, in his magnanimity, also donated a Toyota Hiace bus to the Old Boys Association in addition to the sum of N3 million for the Unity College for the running of its daily activities.

He donated the keys of the bus to the grand royal father of the day, the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Nuhu Muhammad  Sanusi.

 He the 2022 annual general meeting of the old students association held at the conference hall of the college on Saturday.

 The governor, who was represented by his Director Security Matters, Col. Umar Malami Muhammad [rtd], thanked the members for sustaining the association despite numerous challenges,   and assured that  he would continue   to assist his alma mater from time to time.

 Earlier in his address, president of the association,  Alhaji Ja’afar  Usman  Muhammad, said the college started with first intakes of 31 students  in 1960,  while the second was 32 students in 1961 but 60 years after the school accommodate over 2,000 students.
