Fresh backs FCT Athletics championship for schools

 

Well Known Football Administrator in Nigeria, Ahmed Fresh Yusuf, has put his weight behind the forthcoming grassroots-based Athletics competition billed for May this year in Abuja.

Fresh, who is the Chairman, Technical and Development Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) personally donated the Sum of Two hundred thousand Naira for the primary School event.

He made the Cash donation to the lead organizer of the competition Tolulope Oguntimehin, after which he charged the working team to ensure they achieve the objectives of the programme.

Oguntimehin who reacted on behalf of the Working team appreciated Fresh for his support, commended his effort to grassroots Sports Development in Nigeria.

He also extended the appreciation to Cold Stone Creamery who in collaboration has promised to provide gifts for the participants.

The Niger State Football Association Chairman has consistently supports grassroots events in different Sports, especially football for many years which has brought him much recognition.

The primary school tournament in her maiden edition would cover pupils from different schools in the Six Area councils including Abaji, Abuja Municipal, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje and Kwali of the FCT.

It is aimed at discovering and harnessing talented athlete at foundational School level and giving them opportunities to develop their gifts.
The Pupils are expected to participate in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 4 by 100m, High Jump and Long Jump for boys and girls category.

The Knockout round at different Area Councils is scheduled for May 2 while those that qualified would meet on May 9, 2018 at the National Stadium, Abuja for the Grand Finale that will decide Event eventual Winners.
