Free feeding c’ttee extends services to eye, leprosy hospitals

Coordinator of Borno state government hospitals free feeding  committee, Hajiya Fati Gambo Dori, has flagged off the expansion programme of the committee with the provision of standard and quality balanced diet feeding as lunch for all the patients at the Maiduguri eye clinic including the Mole Leprosy Hospital in line with Governor Kashim Shettima’s earlier directive.

Hajiya told journalists in Maiduguri shortly after the flag off that the committee also intended to extent its services to other local government areas “immediately after the present crisis is brought under control at the local government areas.”
She said already the committee had planned to move to Borno south senatorial zone before visiting Borno north senatorial zone.

According to her, adequate food has been provided for the patients and many expressed their appreciation and commended the committee in addition to thanking the state government for the gesture.
Blueprint recalls that due to poor feeding and lack of food for patients in most government hospitals and clinics, Shettima last year constituted a committee to spearhead the free feeding of patients in government hospitals and clinics.
