Kogi state Coordinator of Area Youth Solidarity Forum, Okwoli Usman Friday, has called on the people of the state to re-elect the member representing Idah Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Ismaila Hussein Ina.
Friday, who made the call yesterday during a media briefing at the Forum’s Secretariat in Abuja, said the Forum decided to encourage Ina’s re-election after due consultation with stakeholders and people of Ida Federal Constituency.
“Ina has distinguished himself by adopting a people-oriented leadership style and making himself available to the electorate at all times,” Okwoli said, adding that his years in the federal legislature had delivered several dividends to the people of Idah.
Okwoli added that Ina’s experience, coupled with his humaneness and the fact that he delivered on his campaign promises stood him out for re-election, stating that the electorate ought to consider those who had kept their promises. “He promised to provide potable water for the people of Idaho, and today, we have several bore holes to his credit; his credibility in the legislature has been a source of pride to his people.”
“We know the meaning of development; development is not about sharing money to villagers, rather, it is about solving problems that will in turn help them overcome social and economic challenges.”
Describing Ina as “a leader who is conscious of the need for qualitative education,” the coordinator said his Scholarships Scheme had brought immense relief to indigent students of Idah Federal Constituency.
