Former lawmaker trains 150 teachers on ICT in Nasarawa

The immediate past member of the House of Representatives representing Awe/Doma/Keana federal constituency, Hon. Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo has trained 150 secondary school teachers on Information Technology (ICT) in Nasarawa state.

Ogashi made this known Sunday, at the end of the five days training workshop for 150 secondary school teachers at Dr Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic Lafia.

He said the importance of ICT to societal development cannot be overemphasized, hence the need for the training and called on the teachers to use the knowledge gained to impact positively on their students for the overall development of the education sector and the country in general.

Blueprint learnt that the training which drew Professional teachers cut across Awe, Doma, Keana respectively in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Communication Technology Leveraging ICT For National Development.

The representative of the Federal Ministry of Communication Technology, Mr Shola Ololulade, said the ministry was poised to ensure that every able Nigerian have access to Information Communication Technology (ICT).

He maintained that the strength of every nation’ lies on teachers to advance, and commended Hon, Onawo for the initiative, adding that the ministry would continue to support the gesture of committed politicians like him.

Also speaking the representative of E-Concept Technology Limited, Mr, Yakubu Adelakun, explained “the objective of the training was to empowered teachers on the application of data management in line with contemporary best practices.”

Adelakun maintained that “the effort was to ensure that teachers improved in the cause of impacting knowledge on the lives of Secondary School Teachers.”

He however, commended the participants for conducting themselves and sues for maximum and continued co-operation in other subsequent training exercise.
