Ex-ANCOPSS president hails Buhari on women empowerment

Immediate past National President of the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals  of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Dr. Fatima Abdulrahaman, has assured Nigerians, especially women, that President Muhammadu Buhari was committed to lifting them out of the poverty line.
In a brief chat with journalists in Abuja at the weekend, she enjoined women to embrace the initiatives put in place by the present administration as well as remain steadfast, calling on them to support the president’s bid to transform the country.
“The President is not only gender-friendly but is passionate on the uplifting of women from poverty to grace,” she said.While advising women to remained focused she hasten to caution them against allowing themselves to be used by desperate politicians, adding that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will do everything humanly possible to put Nigeria back on the right track.

She commended the Buhari administration for: payment of seven years pension arrears, employment of 200,000 graduates at cost of 30,000 monthly due to commence soon and the release of N700   billion for capital projects to reflate the economy.
Other initiatives which she said were worthy of commendation were the “N150 billion for women entrepreneurship development, N30 billion for lecturers’ allowances; implementation of the Treasury Single Account (TSA) policy effectively in addition to the life that has been injected into the Calabar to Lagos, Lagos to Kano, Ibadan to Lagos rail projects amongst others.”
On the economic downturn in the country, she said it was not occasioned on the country by thw present government, insisting that Nigerians should bear with President Buhari in his efforts to sanitise the battered economy.
