Emir of Bida, His Royal Highness Dr Yahaya Abubakar, has stressed the need for the members of the National Council on Establishment (NCE) to ensure that “they take decisions that would help improve the welfare of workers across the country.”
Speaking when he received members of the National Council on Establishment in his palace yesterday, Abubakar said improving the welfare of workers would boost their morale and guarantee efficient service delivery to Nigerians.
He said although the present economic realities facing the country are challenging and may serve as a setback to improving the welfare of workers, the issue can easily be addressed with proper planning and effective use of information communication technology techniques in the public service.

The emir expressed concern over how government’s scarce resources were often diverted by few individuals rather than using them for capital projects that would enhance the well-being of Nigerians.
according to him, public service is a trust and must be seen as such by all Nigerians, particularly those in positions of authority.
In her remarks, Permanent Secretary (Service Policy and Strategy) in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Hajiya Nuratu Batagarawa, called for the effective utilisation of the tourist sites in Niger state for improved social and economic development of the country.
