Etsu Nupe mourns NTA reporter Ajayi 

 

Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, the Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, has described the death of Mr Jones Ajayi, a reporter of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Bida station, Niger state as very devastating.

In a condolence message, the Etsu Nupe said that the veteran journalist, who died on Thursday after a brief illness in Minna was humble and dedicated to his duty.

He said his demise was a great loss not only to his family or the NTA, but also to the entire Nupe Kingdom and Niger state.

“Words cannot express the shock and pain in losing such a compatriot in the struggle to make our society a better place.

“His incisive and poignant contributions in disseminating news around the Nupe Kingdom to the public and national discourse will be greatly missed.

“He left behind an indelible mark not only on the journalism profession but also on taking the country to greater heights”, he said.

He commiserated with NTA, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Niger chapter, and prayed God to grant the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the loss as it is only Allah that has the power to give and take life.
