FCT: Kagoro old boys organise reunion, strategise for development projects

The Kagoro Secondary School Old Boys Association (KASSOBA) Abuja chapter has organised a reunion buffet in a conscious move to foster unity among its member and to reposition the association for meaningful development projects by its alma mater.

The colourful event, which took place over the weekend at the Daughters of Abraham Foundation Jabi, Abuja, was well attended by the ‘Iron Men’ as they are fondly addressed.

The National President KASSOBA, Dr Mark Anthony, speaking through the National Financial Secretary, Alhaji Abubakar Labaran, commended the Abuja chapter of the association.

He stated that since the new excos were sworn in last year, it has swung into action by making efforts to bring all the chapters together through strengthening communication channels in addition to ensuring that all materials donated by the old boys to the school are accounted for.

The national president added that, a befitting secretariat is being prepared in the school where activities of the association would be handled effectively.

While admonishing the Abuja chapter not to relent in its efforts of providing support and improvising innovations that would made KASSOBA one of the best associations in the country, the president urged them to assist the present exco anytime the need arises.

He then urged members to identify with the national body through linking with the WhatsApp group that has been created, which presently has over 250 old boys communicating 24 hours daily and also pay their monthly dues for the association to achieve its aims and objectives.

Chairman of KASSOBA, Abuja chapter, Engr EY Sambo, had earlier expressed gratitude to God for the reunion, which he said was an opportunity for the old boys to socialise.

Sambo noted that KASSOBA is an association that the Abuja chapter has nurtured as a project of great importance for a long time.

Sambo revealed that from the celebrations of the Silver, Golden, and Diamond Jubilee of Kagoro Secondary School, Elder Maikori, Prof. Ambossom, Mr Dale E Bagaiya, and other prominent old boys have left no stone upturned to ensure that a befitting celebration was given to the school, in addition to the execution of meaningful developmental projects in the school.
