ETO App: 10,085 trucks accessed Apapa, Tin-Can ports in 7 days

The installations of the electronic call-up system otherwise call Eto by the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has reduced the traffic insanity and brought about orderliness in the movement of trucks within the Apapa city as the documents showed that between June 27th to July 3rd, 2022, a record 10,085 trucks accessed the Apapa and Tin-Can Island ports through the agency’s Electronic Call-Up system.

The NPA document also revealed that the approved an export window and allotted 2,965 export-laden trucks to boost export activities in these ports.

The documents noted that “#NPATruckMovement between 27th June — 3rd July, 2022:

“The Authority has allotted 10,085 trucks access to the Port through the èto e-call up platform for the week under review for Apapa & Tincan Ports.

“To promote exports, the authority has approved an export window and allotted 2,965 export-laden trucks; the highest for any window,”

Following the initial hiccups that greeted the introduction and installation of the equipment at the Lagos ports to ensure effective coordination of truck movements, stakeholders have described the Eto App as a game changer for the industry.
