Equity market increases by 943.43 basis points

Trading activities on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange yesterday sustained growth profile, increasing by 943.43 basis points. Specifically, the NSE All Share Index rose by 3.13 per cent to 31071.25 points from 30127.82 points traded on Wednesday. Also the market Capitalisation of listed equities surged by N324 billion to N10.671 trillion from N10.347 trillion recorded the previous day.

Investors for the day traded 450.524 million shares valued at N5.707 billion in 6360 deals against 541.869 million shares worth N7.930 billion made the previous day in 5727 deals. An analysis of the trading showed that  Nestle Nigeria Plc led gainers table, growing by N23.00 to close at N855.00, Total Nigeria Plc followed with a gain of N15.00 to close at N195.00, Dangote Cement added N9.71 kobo to close at N203.96 kobo, Nigerian Breweries appreciated by N9.71 kobo to close at N203.96, Nigerian Breweries gained N5.69 kobo to close at N149.49 kobo while Guinness Nigeria Plc increased by N5.31 kobo to close at N111.76 kobo. On the contrary, Cap Plc topped the losers chart, dropping by N1.44 kobo to close at N34.68 kobo, International Breweries trailed with a loss of N0.13 kobo to close at N19.86 kobo, NPF Micro Finance Bank declined by N0.06 kobo to close at N1.17 kobo, Access Bank fell by N0.04 kobo to close at N6.16 kobo and Skye Bank N0.03 kobo to close at N1.10 kobo.
