Engr Kure: Death of a humanist

Humanity is once again diminished and dealt a blow, when news of the death of former governor of Niger state came in two days ago. Kure is one of the most unassuming political figures of our time. He was amiable and his humility was legendary. From all accounts, he was magnanimous and kind-hearted to a fault. In those days when General Ibrahim Babangida’s come-back ambition was on the front burner, Kure was in the forefront, from the recesses of his domain.

That was Kure for you, always loyal and committed to friendship and relationship and working from behind to for its sake.
According to Babangida Aliyu who succeeded him as governor, “he was a peacemaker, a role model and a bridge builder”. He was also a religious icon who did not make a fuss about religion either. May Almighty Allah grant him aljannat firdausi and forgive his sins.
