Ekiti guber poll: INEC declares Fayose winner

The Peoples Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, was yesterday officially declared by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), as the winner of Saturday’s governorship election in Ekiti state.

He polled 203,090 votes to defeat the incumbent governor Kayode Fayemi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who scored 120,433 votes.

According to the returning officer and Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Professor Isaac Azuzu, “Ayodele Peter Fayose of PDP, having certified the requirement of the law and scored the highest number of votes is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected”.
