Ekiti guber: NGO to organise debate for aspirants

A non-governmental organisation under the auspices of Omoluabi Youth Empowerment Initiative (OYEI) has invited all governorship aspirants in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Ekiti state to an economic debate. A statement signed by the chairman of the NGO, Comrade Olanrewaju Oretoluwa yesterday said the debate will target the aptitude of the contenders on the economy, politics and governance issues, opportunism and developmental plans. He said the debate with the theme: “Unveiling Ekiti State Economic Potentials Th rough Articulated Economic Development Plans Initiative,” will be aired live for all aspirants to unveil their visions, innovations and blueprints while showcasing interactive discussions on economic plans, programmes and opportunities as envisaged by them. “The debate will be covering critical sectors of the economy, creation of networks and partnership between policymakers, investors and stakeholders in the business of governance and development with corporate bodies, civil society organisations, captains of industry, youth bodies, market women organisations, private sector organizations, state and non state actors, with the hope of shaping policy thrusts and direction across all sectors. “Omoluabi Youth Vanguard will host industry experts; economist, business owners, investors, concerned groups/ associations, organisations, civil society groups, development partners/agencies, council of traditional rulers and the general public,” he said. He further stated that the debate, expected to take place on July 3rd at the Christ Acho Alumina Centre, Ado Ekiti by 10am will be the first of its kind in the history of the state.
