Ebonyi assembly suspends lawmaker for causing legislature, executive feud

 

 

Ebonyi state House of Assembly monday suspended indefinitely the member representing Ohaozara west constituency, Mr Onu Nwonye, for causing disaffection between the legislature and the executive arms of government.

The suspension was pronounced  by the speaker of the state House of Assembly,  Ogbonnaya Nwifuru who after listening to the prayers put it to voice vote and  majority voted for it.

Motion for the suspension was moved by leader of the House, Mr Victor Chukwu who also is a member representing Ezza north west constituency and seconded by Mr Chukwu Arinze, member representing Ishielu south constituency.

In the motion, Mr chukwu said, ” that one of our member, Honorable Onu Nwonye has been causing disaffection between the legislature and the executive arm of the government.

He should be suspended for sometimes to serve as a corrective measure.

The House during their sitting gave approval to a bill for a law for establishment of a collage of Nursing and Midwifery at Uburu, Ebonyi state. The bill is in code number HAB No 003 of 2020.
