Defence alumni hold seminar on security

Alumni Association of the National Defence College (AAANDC) in conjunction with the National Defence College will hold participants to the 6th edition of seminar to proffer solutions to security challenge in the country.
A statement signed by the National President of the association, Brig. Gen. Temlong, stated that the seminar with the theme: “ Internally Displaced Person and Post Conflict Peace Building in Nigeria” would serve as a platform for intellectual discourse on national, regional and global security related issue at policy and strategic level.
The statement said:

“The theme was selected in view of the unfortunate situations the victims of the insurgency in the north east of Nigeria have found themselves. Most of them who are now internally displaced have lost their homes, means of livelihood, close family members and are inflicted with psychological; wound that may take a long time to heal.”
It said the association would use the opportunity of the seminar to discuss how the displaced persons could be quickly taken care of and in manner that would enhance peace and security in the country.
“Topics selected for the seminar which eminent personalities will discuss and proffer solutions are: Towards an integrated Plan for Post Conflict Peace Building in the North east Region of Nigeria;

Management of Internally Displaced Persons: Challenges for Sustainable Peace and National Integration; Human Rights Challenges in Combating Asymmetric Threat: Lessons for the Armed Forces of Nigeria; Inter-Agency Collaboration and the Management of Internally Displaced Person in Nigeria; the Impact of the Boko Haram insurgency on Women and Children in the North east of Nigeria.”
The director said the recent promotions are in line with one of the key drivers of the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar’s vision which is to promote and inculcate the core values of integrity, excellence and service delivery.
