Governor Sa’idu Usman Dakingari of Kebbi state yesterday flagged off Kamba, Dolekaina, Makera-Kangiwa and Madamfara-Lema-yeldu-Kare roads awarded at the cost of N5 billion.
Performing the ceremony in Kamba town, the governor said it was part of his administration’s commitment to provide roads in every nook and cranny of the state.
He advised politicians to live in peace with one another, saying “you can belong to any party of your choice, but what is paramount is for you to live peacefully with one another.”
Earlier, the Commissioner for Works and Housing, Alhaji Muhammad Bello Tuga, had explained that the 97-kilometre road would link various towns and villages of the Argungu Emirate and was awarded at the cost of N5.2 billion.
He added that the road would also serve link the state with neighbouring Niger and Benin Republics.
Speaking, the representative of the Emir of Argungu and the Kundudda of Argungu, Alhaji Sani Aliyu Augie, thanked the governor for providing roads and various social amenities for the people.
“We will ever remain grateful for this kind gesture, and we shall continue to pray to God for guidance and for the success of your government,” he said.
