Gunmen suspected to be cultists have shot dead a National Diploma student of Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State.
The victim identified as Emmanuel Aronokhale was reportedly killed Tuesday night in his hostel residence at second Bawak, Sabo quarters.
Aronokhale23, a student in Department of Accounting was said to be relaxing in front of the hostel with his fellow students when the gunmen struck.
The development came less than 24 hours after suspected cultists invaded two secondary schools in Benin City and unleashed terror on some students.
The poly assailants were said to have ordered other occupants in the hostel into their rooms and robbed them of their money and mobile phones.
Similarly, suspected cultists Wednesday also killed a barber in Idumwunowina community, Ovia North east local government area of the state.
The unidentified man was reportedly shot at close range by three-man gunmen as he opened his shop for the day.
The victim was said to be sweeping his shop when the gunmen emerged and opened fire on him.
As at the time of filling this report, Edo state Police spokesman DSP Chidi Nwabuzor said he was yet to be briefed on the killing of the barbing saloon operator in the state.
