Cross River: Senatorial aspirant happy with PDP ward congresses

A Senatorial Aspirant to the Cross River Central Senatorial zone on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. John Owan-Enoh, has expressed satisfaction over the conduct of ward congresses in the zone.
Enoh told journalists in Ikom on Sunday that the congresses in the six local government areas of the zone were very peaceful and orderly.

“Although the materials arrived late in some local government areas due to the bad roads, there was no report of violence, everything went on well. This has strengthened the fact that the PDP in the state under the leadership of Governor Liyel Imoke, is a one united family.”
Enoh, who represents Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency of Cross in the House of Representatives and Chairman, Committee on Appropriation, further said he wanted to go to the Senate in order to expand his services to the people.
He called on people to disregard such reports as it does not represent the true facts on the ground.
The Cross River Central Senatorial zone comprises Boki, Ikom, Abi, Yakurr, Etung and Obubra local government areas with 66 electoral wards.

In his reaction, the state chairman of the party, Mr. John Okon, described the ward congresses in the 196 wards of the State, as peaceful, free and fair.
“Everything went well. So far, there was no problem anywhere.”
Also speaking, the Chairman of Etung local government council, Dr Ibok Ebak, said the exercise was very peaceful and the turnout was very encouraging in the area.
“There was no problem at all. In fact, we even found it difficult to control the crowd. I thank the party for choosing the A4 Option for the exercise,” he said. (NAN)
