COVID 19: Kaduna flags off distribution of palliatives in Jama’a, Kaura LGAs

As part of measures of  cushioning the effects of the lock down as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, the distribution of palliatives has been flagged off in Jama’a and Kaura local government areas of Kaduna state.

Speaking at the flag off ceremony at Kagoro recently, the coordinator of the committee, Dr Katuka Bege Ayuba said, the items were meant for the less privileged.

Dr Katuka who is also the caretaker committee chairman, Kaura local government area said the gesture was a humanitarian and not political and therefore should not be given any colouration.

The coordinator said, Urban wards would be used as pilot areas for a start as they are the most affected by the restriction order.

He assured that the committee would do everything possible to guard against diversion of any of the items so that target beneficiaries are reached.

In a response on behalf of the Subcommittee Jama’a local government, the leader, Ambassador Joshua Ishaya, appreciated the state government for its concern towards the plight of the people.
