Court restrains Olajide from parading self as Oba of Olla

An Ilorin High Court has restrained one Dr. Stephen Billy Olajide from parading himself as the Olala of Olla town in Isin local government area of Kwara state.

Ruling on the motion on notice filled before the court, Justice Muhammed Abdulgafar, ordered Olajide not to preside over meetings of Olla traditional council or perform any traditional or statutory functions of Olola of Olla.

Justice Abdulgafar also ordered Olajide not to appoint any traditional chief of Olla or fill any vacancy in the traditional council or wear any regalia of Olola of Olla pending the determination of the case filled before him.

Likewise, the court restrained Aro of Olla, Chief Adebayo Adeniyi; Olafaki of Olla, Chief Jacob Awoyemi and Onirede of Olla, Chief Ibidokun from attending any Olla Traditional Council of Chiefs meeting presided over by Dr. Stephen Bally Olajide pending the determination of the suit before it.

One Chief Adebayo Adeniyi and three other petitioners had filed an application for an order of interlocutory injunction restraining the defendants in respect of the office of Olola of Olla pending the determination of the suit.

They stated that despite the order of the court setting aside his nomination, appointment, installation and coronation as Olola of Olla, he is still describing himself as an Oba.
