Commissioner’s husband in police nets over fraud

Jigawa state Police command has apprehended a husband of one of the women commissioners (name with held) serving in the present administration in the state.
According to state Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Usman Abubakar Tilli said the suspect was arrested by the Hadejia Divisional Police Headquarters, having been accused of defrauding many people with foreign currency.
He said the money recovered in his possession include N79, 000 and some denomination of foreign US dollars and Euro.
According to reports that his wife who serve as commissioner intervened for his release from detention on bail but his car was still with police..
Confirming the story, CP Abubakar Tilli said he received a signal from the divisional police officer DPO of Hadejia on the issue.

“The man was arrested for defrauding people in the name of producing foreign currency for them, which is a criminal offense and investigation is ongoing before prosecuting the culprits to serve as detriment to others”.
Meanwhile, communities in Gwaram local government area of the state have raised the alarm over incessant cases of kidnapping.
The spokesman of the communities Musa Kailua, said a village head of Malaji, Malam Bala Musa has been abducted.
He explained that the abductors demanded N7million ransom from the family of the district head, but they were given N300,000 before they released him, adding: “We dropped the money at one joint as directed.”
