COAS appoints new GOC for 8 Task Force Div

Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai has appointed Brig. Gen. Ali Nani as the new General Officer Commanding (GOC), 8 Task Force Division, Nigeria Army.

General Nani takes over from the Acting GOC, Brigadier General Chukwuemeka Okonkwo who has been posted out Thursday.
Spokesman of 7 Division Nigerian Army , Lt. Wenke Tonye, disclosed this in a statement in Maiduguri.
He said the Outgoing GOC , Brig. Gen. Okonkwo expressed appreciation officers and soldiers of the division, and the Chief of Army Staff  (COAS) Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai for giving him the opportunity to serve in that capacity.
He also thanked God for seeing him through despite the numerous challenges in the division.
Brig. Gen. Nani commended the outgoing GOC for steering the affairs of the division in its fight against insurgency in Borno state.

He appealed to officers and soldiers of the division to work as a family, and endeavour to render useful advise in order to serve the Nigeria Army effectively. He solicited for their maximum cooperation towards achieving the set goals and objectives of the division, adding that the division can only achieve the desired result when troops commitment, professionalism and hard work when executing their various tasks.
He expressed his readiness promised to work with the GOC 7 Division, Nigeria Army , Brig. Gen. Victor Ezugwu,  the Commander,  79 Composite Group, Nigerian  Air Force, Maiduguri, Air Comdr. Charles Ohwo, to flush the remnants of Boko Haram insurgents in Borno State and entire North east..
