Christmas: Cleric tasks Christians, Muslims on tolerance

The Archbishop Kaduna province and Bishop, Wusasa of Church of Nigeria Anglican communion, Most Reverend Dr Ali Buba Lamido, has charged Christians and Muslims to continue to tolerate one another in the interest of peace and development.

He gave the charge in his Christmas message on Thursday.

Most Reverend Lamido said there can’t developments where peace don’t exist between the 2 faithful.

He pointed out that both Christians and Muslims were created by same God to worship him but not to be at logger head with another.

Speaking on the significance of Christmas, Most Reverend Lamido said that it a time of sober reflection.

“Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ much more than celebrating his birth but to celebrate the gift of salvation to everyone who believe and worship God and it is also the time when pray for divine mercy and love upon us mankind.

“This Christmas will be celebrated in low keyed because of COVID-19 pandemic, many countries have closed but here in Nigeria we are given guidelines during this Xmas in order to contain the spread of the pandemic during the service which include: wearing of face mask, washing of hands, use of hand sanitizer, observing physical distance among other protocols.” Said the clergyman

On Security, the Archbishop called the Government to invest more in the area of security manpower with view to address the insecurity rocking the country especially the north.

“There is the need to increase the manpower of the Police, Army and other security agencies.” He said.
