Christmas: Borno First Lady shares gifts to 600 Christian women, others (4)

Borno First Lady, Dr Falmata Babagana Umara Zulum, Wednesday, reached out to Christian women, widows and vulnerable families at the multipurpose hall Government House, Maiduguri, ahead of  the Christmas festivities. 

She said the gesture was a support to the Christian families to enable them have a fulfilling Christmas celebration. 

The gifts distributed include 25Kg bags of rice, gallons of palm oil and cash gift to the beneficiaries. 

The First Lady also wished the Christian faithful in the state and beyond a merry Christmas and happy new year in advance. 

Earlier in her welcome remarks, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajjia Zuwaira Gambo, commended the first lady for sustaining the  kind gesture  done to  the womenfolk, girls and  the vulnerable in the society over the years, with passion, love towards  the promotion of unity, and peaceful coexistence among the entire people of the state.

Chairperson of the Borno State Widows Association, Madam Asabe, thanked the first lady for identifying with the Christian community at this festive period.
