CAN urges Gombe to prioritise security

 

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Gombe state chapter, has urged government at the state and federal levels to prioritise the security of citizens.

CAN secretary in Gombe, Rev Bulama Bulus, stated this during the meeting organised by Advocacy Centre for Development in collaboration with Global Rights to mark the national Mourning and Remembrance Day.  

Also speaking, the chairman of the association of non-governmental organisations, Gombe state and Executive Director of Advocacy Centre for Development, Mallam Ibrahim Yusuf, commended the government of Gombe security agencies and also encouraged them to do more for peace and security to ensure safety of lives and property in the state

He said there are no signs of remorse or indication that there would be justice over the violent killings which has escalated in the past few years, including those perpetrated by the government and its security apparatus.
