Up to three persons nearly lost their lives at Awka, the Anambra state capital, Friday, when a popular event compere/manager, Aiza Nwosu, lost control of his vehicle along the expressway.
Blueprint reports that Nwosu, renowned for driving round Awka and its environs in his announcement and entertainment van, lost consciousness as a result of the incident and was rushed to nearby hospital.
According to a viral video, his van allegedly knocked down road users, including a tricyclist while driving through the popular aroma junction following a break failure.
A source who was around during the crash said the incident happened opposite Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) which made it possible for officials of the agency to help in dismantling his musical instruments from the van.
“We have rushed Aiza and two other persons involved to the hospital. We were in the office when we were called to move fast about this emergency. I cannot explain how it happened. We know that Aiza is alive and receiving treatment,” a source said.
A voice from a viral video claimed that the incident happened immediately she crossed to the order side of the road, adding that the van was not on a speed.
