Bello names Awwal Aliyu executive secretary Niger pilgrims welfare board

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger state has appointed Muhammad Awwal Aliyu as the new executive secretary of the Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board.

Aliyu’s appointment was announced Thursday in a statement issued by Ahmed Ibrahim Matane, Secretary to the Government of Niger state.

He replaces Umaru Makun Lapai who has been in the position for years, although the governor was silent on his removal.

The SSG said, “The appointment of Aliyu to the challenging position was based on professionalism, merit, proven credentials, integrity, and outstanding records of decades of experience.”

He said the new executive secretary is expected to comply with the operational structure and policy objective as contained in the state pilgrims welfare board.

He advised the new executive secretary to bring his knowledge, skill, and wealth of experience to bear in the performance of his new assignment by working assiduously to justify the confidence reposed in him.
