Be kind to your neighbor, Shettima urges Muslims

Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno state has urged Muslims to be kind to their neighbours and live harmonious with one another irrespective of their religious, ethnic, political, economic and social backgrounds.

The governor in his Sallah message to the people of Borno at the weekend said the feast of sacrifice which the Eid-el-Kabir celebration symbolises also teaches hoe someone could share, love and be a good neighbour to others.
Shettima also implored the people to extent their gestures to their neighbours, especially the needy among them.

In a press statement issued by the Deputy Director of Press to the Governor, Mr Ndahi  Pindar Sawa, the governor said: “As we celebrate this Sallah in peace and harmony; I also call on all Muslims in the state to be kind to their neighbour, relatives, friends and the needy by extending gestures to them in the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir festival.”

The governor added that the blessings and lessons learnt during the festive period would further explore avenues that would propel the state to achieve peace, harmony and brotherliness.
He said government would remain committed and resolute in its pursuance of all logical means to ensure that peace and harmony returned to Borno, the North-east affected states and the country as a whole.
