Bauchi’s 545 last batch of pilgrims depart for Saudi Arabia


The last batch of of the Bauchi state pilgrims numbering 545 have been airlifted early hours of Sunday to Saudi Arabia via Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport Bauchi.


On board the Max Air plane were 180 pilgrims from Plateau state who are among the last batch of the state pilgrims airlifted.


Bauchi State Governor, Bala Muhammad, his deputy Senator Baba Tela, who is the state Amirul hajj, Executive Secretary of the state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Kasim Danlami Shall and members of the state Hajj Steering Committee as well as officials from the state pilgrims board were among those who departed for the holy land.


Speaking with newsmen before their take off, the governor reaffirmed the readiness of his administration towards fulfilling its campaign promises.


He promised to come up with new policies immediately after returning from the holy land for improving the well-being of the people of the state, and pledged to ensure their full implementation.


The governor who called on people of the state not to relent in their support to his administration, prayed Almighty Allah to empower him and give him the wisdom to implement all the policies and programmes initiated.
