The deputy governor of Bauchi state, Mohammed Auwal Jatau, Thursday at Eid-el Ground, called on the entire citizens to embark on fervent prayers for Almighty Allah to mercifully bless the state with adequate rainfall to meet the needs of this year’s rainy season.

The deputy governor made the call in his message to the people of the state on behalf of Governor Bala Mohammed shortly after observing two raka’at special prayers for bountiful rainfall on the current rainy season held at Bauchi Eid-el Ground.

Jatau said the special prayer was to seek divine intervention over the shortage of rainfall, which continues to persist in most parts of Bauchi state, praying that Allah will accept their prayers and grant them sufficient rainfall in the coming days for this year’s farming season for a bumper harvest.

He appreciated the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji (Dr) Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu, Islamic clerics, civil servants and the entire Muslim ummah for observing the special prayers for a period of about three days and called for more support, cooperation and prayers to the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed for effective execution of people’s oriented projects to improve their living condition.

“I am here at this Bauchi Eid-el Ground this morning on behalf of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed with a delegation of the Secretary to the State Government, Head of Civil Service, Permanent Secretaries and the civil servants of Bauchi State to participate in this special prayers for a blessed and adequate rainfall.

“I want on behalf of the Governor thank our people for their full participation in the special prayers. We are optimistic that our prayers will yield positive results.”

The deputy governor noted that the Bauchi state government, on its part, has provided essential agricultural commodities, particularly fertilizer, at affordable prices to farmers in order to enhance production and therefore reassured the readiness and commitment of the state government to protect farmers in their farmlands against all forms of insecurity.
